Maryland law allows ePrescribing of all drugs to allow practitioners and pharmacies in MD to be compliant with the Federal SUPPORT ACT of 2018. Governor Hogan signed House Bill 512/Senate Bill 166 which *mandates electronic prescribing of controlled substances ( EPCS ) for all Schedule II-V drugs effective 1/1/2022. The state of MD also requires health information exchanges (HIEs) to be approved in MD. MD found WENO Exchange to be an ePrescribing Intermediary and therefore not subject to the HIE pre-approval requirement in order to operate in the state of Maryland.
