SUPPORT ACT of 2018 is a federal law which *mandates the electronic prescribing of all controlled substances ( EPCS ) drugs covered by Medicare directly or a Medicare Plan. It was effective January 1, 2021 but enforced on 1/1/2022. |

Currently Guam only allows ePrescribing of non controlled substances. On April 7, 2021 Senators Therese M. Terlaje & Telena Cruz Nelson introduced Bill 110-36 which will also allow ePrescribing of controlled substances if passed which will allow practitioners to be compliant with the federal SUPPORT ACT of 2018. It is not yet clear how GUAM practitioners and pharmacies will be effected with a federal compliance date of 1/1/2022. |
